Our work

Good Return

Grey Area Partners has been working with Good Return on the design, structuring and launch of an innovative $10m impact investment fund that will unlock capital for micro, small and medium businesses operating across Asia and the Pacific.

These businesses (in particular those that are women-run) struggle to access finance to invest in growth because of systemic barriers and bias. The Good Return fund will seek to catalyse millions of dollars in loans to these small businesses, to enable them to grow, employ people in their community and raise local incomes.

Reach To Teach

Reach To Teach seeks to enhance learning outcomes for children in low-resource government schools in India where it is not uncommon for children to be 3-4 years behind where they should be in basic skills such as numeracy and literacy.

GAP is working with Reach To Teach on a significant growth strategy, focused on identifying funding partners that can enable the organisation to expand its work to many more states and thousands of more schools in the years to come.

Creative Australia

The cultural sector has historically relied on government grants and wealthy patrons to sustain itself. These funding sources are becoming increasingly constrained.

Grey Area Partners is working with Creative Australia to explore prospects for impact investing to provide a new avenue of funding for the creative arts in Australia as well as to build the capacity of arts organisation leaders for impact measurement and capital raising.

Longreach Maris

LM is an asset manager investing into and partnering with Australia’s wild-caught seafood industry, in a way that supports both environmental sustainability and social resilience. Now in its fifth year, LM manages over $320m in institutional capital.

We are working with the LM team to review and understand the broad social and environmental impact of its activities to date, and to identify opportunities for enhanced impact management going forward.

Black Excellence Fund

BEF is a venture capital fund that aims to support Indigenous businesses across Australia via strategic investments that not only yield economic returns but also achieve social outcomes.

GAP’s work with BEF involves advising on fund structuring, impact measurement framework development, marketing and capital raising.
